Book Review

The book Friday night lights was a hard read because it was hard to get into in the beginning because it was more like a history lesson than a novel, but it was worth it because it taught me a lot about life and how we take a lot of things for granted. The players documented through the season spent in Odessa showed me how alcoholism, injury, poverty and racism and can affect a community and individual people. That helped me to say that everything that I have makes me lucky and I have my parents to thank for that because they work hard for everything. Just like most of the Permian Panthers who had to overcome the obstacles to become successful. I suggest this book to any athlete looking for inspiration and a reason to play sports.
